Nationwide Title Clearing, Inc. (NTC) officials recently attended the Clearwater Regional Chamber of Commerce's Not-For-Profit Business Council meeting to assist in planning a networking event for young professionals and to also show continued support of philanthropic efforts within the community. The session was called to begin planning an upcoming event to be held in early April, designed to bring local non-profit organizations together with businesses and budding professionals who are interested in philanthropy.
For NTC, many of whose employees are active volunteers, the council provides an opportunity for the company to further its commitment to remaining an active part of the local community.
NTC CEO John Hillman says that for-profit businesses could stand to benefit from observing non-profit practices, such as identifying and serving a mission that emphasizes a higher purpose, cultivating passionate employees, and keeping customers engaged and loyal. In conjunction with the CRCC’s Young Professionals group—designed to provide up-and-coming professionals with opportunities for career development while also contributing to the community—the Non-Profit Council has a strong focus on building stronger workforce and community—two initiatives that the approaching event will foster, per Hillman.
“Bringing young professionals, including many NTC employees, to an event like this where they get to experience first-hand the value of community involvement is rewarding,” said Hillman. “At NTC, we strive to do everything we can to make our employees proud to work here—and we hope that our efforts will encourage more volunteers throughout our community.”
Having younger NTC employees participate in the Young Professionals Group also encourages longevity at NTC, which NTC hopes will inspire them to seek advancement within the company, per Hillman.
