In April 2011, Nationwide Title Clearing participated for the second year in the Relay For Life of Palm Harbor to benefit the American Cancer Society. Keeping in the spirit of the event theme of television and movies, the 27 member company team was known as the Nationwide Title Clearing Pink Ladies and T-Birds.
“Our employees are always very enthusiastic about taking part in the Relay for Life,” said Erika Lance, senior vice president at Nationwide Title Clearing. “Not only is it a great bonding experience for us as a company, but we are also happy to do our part in taking a stand against cancer. In a company as large as ours, almost everyone knows someone who has been impacted by this horrible disease.” Ms. Lance was recognized as a Star Supporter by the American Cancer Society for collecting over $1,500 in donations as an individual. The Survivor/Caregiver Chair on the Event Committee was Nationwide Title Clearing employee Bobbie Stoldt, a cancer survivor and inspiration to the team.
The Nationwide Title Clearing Pink Ladies and T-Birds raised $10,746 for the American Cancer Society, placing second in overall event fundraising for 2011. At last year’s Relay for Life the Nationwide Title Clearing team raised $7,587, which brings the company’s collective Relay for Life fundraising total to $18,333 raised for the American Cancer Society.
To raise the donations, Nationwide Title Clearing held company-wide fundraising events throughout the year leading up to the relay, as well as an on-site fundraising pie-throwing booth that raised several hundred dollars. Nationwide Title Clearing has already signed up for the Relay for Life of Palm Harbor 2012 and is looking forward to raising more money for the American Cancer Society.
Relay for Life is an overnight, 18-hour event dedicated to raising funds to save lives from cancer, as well as to celebrate the lives of people who have battled cancer and remember loved ones lost and fight back against a disease that takes too much. That’s why Nationwide Title Clearing joined the fight. More than 3.5 million people participate each year in Relay for Life events in a worldwide effort to end cancer.
