    Nationwide Title Clearing County Update: New Mexico Statewide Change

    Nationwide Title Clearing County UpdateNationwide Title Clearing received notice of a New Mexico statewide increase in recording fees. The 2011 New Mexico Legislature passed Senate Bill 369 titled An Act Relating to Public Records. The Governor signed the bill into law on April 7, 2011. The new fees became effective July 1, 2011. In summary the new law sets fees as follows:

    - Sets a flat fee of $25.00 for all documents filed in the office that require 10 or fewer entries to the County Recording Index.

    - Sets a fee of $25 for each additional block of 10 or fewer entries to the County Recording Index from a single document.

    - Sets a reduced fee of $10.00 for any document filed in person by an interested person named on any document requiring 10 or fewer entries to the County Recording Index.

    - Sets a flat fee of $25.00 for all plats filed that require 10 or fewer entries to the County Recording Index.

    Nationwide Title Clearing received notices from the Lea County Clerk, Lincoln County Clerk, Dona Ana County Clerk, Grant County Clerk, Los Alamos Clerk's Office, Bernalillo County Recording Office, San Juan County Clerk, Valencia County Clerk, Eddy County Clerk, to name a few.
