Michael Vitale, also known as Mike, works as the signatory list manager in NTC’s Sales department, where his product is to create and keep diligent maintenance on entity sign off lists.
It takes a special kind of person to go above and beyond and that is just what he did for the month of August. Michael spent his time researching, testing, implementing and turning over a new method of automating a tedious verification process. This resulted in over 3,500 files not needing to be checked manually every day, which saved time and money for the company, and more importantly, improved the verification quality. This kind of attention to detail is the reason he was awarded the August Employee of the Month, which included a desirable parking spot and cash – not to mention bragging rights!
Get to know Michael a little more with our Q & A session below.
- What is your favorite part about working at NTC?
I like the professionalism NTC displays. Also, the teamwork that is instilled is great.
- How long have you worked with NTC?
I have worked at NTC for 4 years.
- Have you worked in other divisions/departments at NTC? If so, which ones? And how did it help you where you are now?
When I first came to NTC, I was a Document Inspector in operations. I was then moved to Data Entry for as special client team and then as a File Supervisor. From there, I moved to the Sig Area and have been here since. Working in Data Entry gave me a good perspective on how sig codes work and how to search for the current lender of record on assignments. Having a background in entry is a huge plus in my eyes.
- What professional training/experience do you have in the housing industry and/or in your field?
Prior to NTC, none. .Everything that I have learned in the housing industry has come from working here at NTC.
- Do you have any hobbies/outside interests that you enjoy?
I love going to the gym, playing sports and just being active. I love venturing off to different microbreweries and trying all kinds of craft beer as well.
- What are three things NTC team members don’t know about you?
- I am a first generation Italian/American who understands/speaks Italian.
- I am a diehard Pittsburgh Steelers fan.
- I have been told that I look mean, but I am actually a really nice guy!
- What professional advice do you want to give to NTC team members who want to advance in their career? Do you have a mentor, did they offer you valuable advice you want to share?
Continue to work hard and pursue your dreams and aspirations. Hard work does not go unnoticed and if you strive to be the best, you will achieve it. My older brother is a huge mentor to me. He is always there when I need him and has always given me the best advice, even if that advice wasn’t what I wanted to hear at the time.
- Feel free to share any personal information here. Pets, children, marital status, favorite foods, anything for NTC Team members to get to know you better.
I am currently engaged to my girlfriend of 4 ½ years. We have two cats and are currently looking to buy our first house. We have no children yet, but will some day. My favorite food is anything my mom makes. She is a magician in the kitchen.
