In the past, third party suppliers to banks and mortgage servicers were, to some degree, insulated from the effects of regulations. The recent guidelines from the CFPB, OCC and the Fed, however, appear to have heightened scrutiny on the banks. As a consequence, it also affects the third-party supplier.

The OCC and other regulatory agencies have identified the inadequacy of Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) as one of the main causes of the credit crunch of 2008. (NTC) officials recently attended the Clearwater Regional Chamber of Commerce's Not-For-Profit Business Council meeting to assist in planning a networking event for young professionals and to also show continued support of philanthropic efforts within the community. The session was called to begin planning an upcoming event to be held in early April, designed to bring local non-profit organizations together with businesses and budding professionals who are interested in philanthropy.

Nationwide Title Clearing has long been an advocate for remaining abreast of the ever-changing regulations in the mortgage industry.  As a result, NTC’s Chief Legal Officer, Myron Finley, was recently appointed co-chairperson of the Property Records Industry Association (PRIA) Business Processes and Procedures Committee.  As a new member, Finley collaborated on a PRIA 2013 Annual Conference panel discussion regarding document indexing standards.
